Great news for iOS users! After several months of development we have added support for iOS 6.x devices in the latest version of SyncMate 4, tada!

It will sync in the background quietly and will only inform you when the process is complete, so that you can concentrate on other stuff while keeping all your important data in sync!

Hi, just wanted to let you know that we’ve recently released new version of SyncMate which brings several improvements and fixes listed below.

Sync with mounted devices

• The latest build of SyncMate encrypts data during the sync of mounted devices (not after the sync process as it was in previous versions).
• Contacts and Calendars sync with mounted devices became more stable, since SyncMate now checks the synced data integrity on a device prior to syncing.

Sync with Dropbox account

Because of some updates from Dropbox, you will need to re-establish connection with your account in SyncMate to be able to sync with it again (Dropbox connection you had in SyncMate previously will be offline, so just re-connect your account).

September 19 Apple has released iOS 6, the new operating system for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch with more than 200 new features and improvements.

iOS 6 is not yet supported by SyncMate 4, but we are working on it and will provide the upgrade as soon as possible.

Have you ever wanted to have access to all storages of your Android device on Mac? You can do this with SyncMate 4 Expert. Keep on reading to find out how.

In previous versions of SyncMate Android users had to choose “Android device” in SyncMate wizard when connecting their Android devices to a Mac via SyncMate. In such case when they mounted their Android as a Mac disk (”Mount disk” plugin), they could browse content of internal memory only or SD card only (only one storage was mounted, depending which one is located in /mnt/sdcard).

Starting from version 4 SyncMate adds one more connection – MTP devices. If you connect your Android as MTP device (just pick this connection in SyncMate wizard and connect your Android via USB) and choose “Mount disk” plugin, SyncMate will mount and show you ALL storages your Android device has – not only internal memory or SD Card (both at the same time), but also any other storages connected to your device. Voila!

We hope you had enough time to test its Beta version and evaluate all new features and options we’ve added. We’ve received great feedback after SyncMate 4 Beta release, thanks everyone who helped us in SyncMate 4 improvement!

Release version doesn’t differ from Beta a lot (except for it is even more stable and reliable). But anyway I’ll list all new features we’ve added to SyncMate 4 below.

iCloud and Yahoo! Support

SyncMate 4 now syncs contacts, calendars, To Do/Reminders on Mac with iCloud, Yahoo! or any other cloud storages working via CardDAV or CalDAV protocols (choose Cloud contacts or Cloud calendars connection in SyncMate wizard).

BlackBerry support

BlackBerry devices are also supported, you can sync contacts, calendars, images, videos, music, folders, notes, To Do/Reminders, Stickies, and read SMS messages on Mac.

SyncMate 4 is compatible with BlackBerry OS 6 and 7 (we haven’t had an opportunity to test earlier OS types, so you are welcome to help us and report if SyncMate is compatible with BlackBerry phones running previous OS versions). Sync is performed via USB.

Sync with MTP devices

SyncMate 4 introduces the support for one more type of devices – MTP devices. You can sync images, videos, music and folders between your Mac and any MTP device (any mobile phone, camera, portable device that supports MTP). Sync is performed via USB.

Note that this type of devices can be synced in 2 directions only (unlike other devices, which can be synced in 3 directions). Data can be synced from a Mac to a device and from a device to a Mac (bidirectional sync is not available).

Sync with Google Drive

SyncMate 4 adds new plugins for Google sync. You can now sync not only contacts and calendars between Mac and Google account, but also images, videos, music, and folders between Mac and Google Drive storage. It is also possible to mount Google Drive storage as Mac disk.

Online storage

Syncing with Online storage has been changed in SyncMate 4. Starting from this version Online storage can no longer be added as a new sync connection. However if you had Online storage in your connections list in SyncMate 3, it will be automatically added to your connections list in SyncMate 4.

Please note that if you accidentally delete Online storage from your connections list in SyncMate 4, you won’t be able to add it again. That’s why we highly recommend to back up all information you have in your Online storage account on your Mac.

Media plugin improvements

Those, who were using SyncMate for syncing images, videos, and music, will definitely like the new look of this plugin. We’ve combined “iTunes & Video” with “iPhoto” plugin into one which is now called “Pictures, Videos & Music” with totally new look that makes sync process even more convenient.

Numerous small yet very important improvements

We’ve added plenty of small options, for example, an opportunity to sync to Android playlists or create new ones and sync into them (do not forget to download and install the latest build of SyncMate module for Android on your device), possibility to sync videos from iPhoto albums, mount all Android storages of your device to your Mac (when connecting via MTP), etc.

Mountain Lion compatibility

SyncMate 4 is fully compatible with Mountain Lion. We’ve tested it very thoroughly and haven’t found any critical issues, but if you face any problem, do not hesitate to let us know.

Please note that starting from version 4 SyncMate won’t be working on Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6. The minimum requirement is Mac OS X 10.6.6.

We are as delighted with this release as you will probably be when finished reading this post. I can’t remember adding so many features into one update as we’ve done in SyncMate 4!

iCloud, Yahoo! support

As we said on our websites, we were working hard on delivering this option to you. Ask and it’s given – iCloud, Yahoo! and other cloud storages working via CardDAV or CalDAV protocols are now supported. You will be able to sync contacts (choose Cloud contacts connection in SyncMate wizard), calendars, and To Do/Reminders (Cloud calendars connection in SyncMate wizard) with your Mac.

Hint. For example you want to sync contacts or calendars with iCloud. When you are asked to enter URL of a remote server while connecting, enter https://caldav.icloud.com if you want to sync calendars and https://contacts.icloud.com if you want to sync contacts. The same with other cloud storages.

BlackBerry support

BlackBerry devices are finally supported! Among the sync options SyncMate offers for BlackBerry devices are contacts and calendars sync, possibility to sync media files (images, videos, music), possibility to sync folders, notes, tasks, Stickies, and read SMS messages on Mac.

SyncMate 4 Beta is compatible with BlackBerry OS 6 and 7 (we haven’t had an opportunity to test earlier OS types, so you are welcome to help us and report if SyncMate is compatible with BlackBerry phones running previous OS versions). Sync can be performed via USB.

Online storage

Syncing with Online storage has been changed in SyncMate 4 Beta. Starting from this version Online storage can no longer be added as a new sync connection. We’ve somewhat changed interface to make it even more user friendly. “iTunes & Video” and “iPhoto” plugins are now combined into one called “Pictures, Videos & Music” with totally new look making sync process even more convenient.

SyncMate 4 Beta is compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. We’ve tested it very thoroughly and haven’t found any critical issues, but anyway if you face any, do not hesitate to let us know.

And probably the most important thing in this release. And the most pleasant of course:) While SyncMate 4 in Beta, it offers you ALL sync options for free (even those, which are as a rule offered in Expert edition). So do not hesitate to test all features for absolutely free. Beta version will expire once SyncMate 4 released.

Those of you who don’t like built-in Address Book or iCal on Mac OS X have probably looked for their alternatives. SOHO Organizer is one of them. It is nice and user-friendly, but it cannot sync data with your Android phone or Google account, for example.

So if you are one of those Mac users who use SOHO Organizer instead of iCal and Address Book (or only looking for their replacement), here is how you can sync data in SOHO Organizer with multiple devices. Let’s take Android phone as an example.

Step 1. You will need to install SOHO Organizer on your Mac.

Step 2. Enable data sync between SOHO Organizer and your Mac.

• Launch SOHO Organizer.
• Go to “Preferences”.
• Choose “Sync” tab and check “Contacts” or “Calendars” boxes.

Now your contacts and calendars will be synced from SOHO Organizer to Address Book and iCal on your Mac.

Step 3. To sync data on Mac with Android (or any other device) you will need to install SyncMate on your Mac. SyncMate syncs contacts and calendars for absolutely free:)

• Launch SyncMate.
• Create new connection with your Android device (Android can be connected via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB; do not forget to install SyncMate Module for Android on your device (link at http://www.sync-mac.com/download/SyncMate.apk).
• Choose Contacts and iCal plugins in SyncMate and manage their settings.
• Sync your data from your Mac to device.

Voila! Your contacts and calendar entries are synced between SOHO Organizer and Android device.

Step 4. SyncMate allows syncing contacts and calendars for free not only with your Android device, but with other mobile phones (Windows Mobile and Nokia S40), other Mac and Windows computers, iOS devices, Google and Dropbox accounts and so on. So just create a new connection in SyncMate and you are ready to sync.
